PHNOM PENH: The Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, DPM Men Sam An, met with 598 chiefs and managers of entertainment services located in five districts of Phnom Penh at the Koh Pich Exhibition Center on Wednesday, 15 February 2023.

The chiefs and managers of entertainment services were from Daun Penh, Chamkar Mon, Boeung Keng Kang, 7 Makara and Toul Kork districts.

DPM Men Sam An said that this meeting was organized to show the Royal Government's attention to the entertainment sector, to especially encourage the provision of legal defense lawyers to prevent abuse in entertainment jobs, and to provide National Social Security Fund (NSSF) yellow cards to employees working in the informal tourism economy.

She reminded all business owners and managers in attendance not to believe in propaganda that has no clear source and encouraged participants to connect to Prime Minister Hun Sen's Telegram channel to receive verified information.

DPM Men Sam An also relayed a message from the Prime Minister and First Lady extending their thoughts about the well-being of people everywhere, and also providing a small monetary bonus through Phnom Penh Governor, Khuong Sreng, to all 598 informal employees in attendance, with each person receiving 100,000 riel.

Previously, the Ministry of Tourism issued a notice on 30 January 2023, in accordance with the recommendation of Prime Minister Hun Sen, which acknowledged that women working in the entertainment sector should have their safety ensured during working hours. At the same time, the Royal Government has proposed an idea to provide women working in the entertainment sector defense lawyers and to provide them with NSSF cards as well.
